In the context of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union, a workshop on establishing satellite accounts for the social economy will be held to the Economic and Social Council on 14 October.
The social economy has a crucial role in the build of a sustainable and inclusive growth. This sector is still to some extent unknown and, above all, little or inaccurately quantified. The goal of satellite account is to overcome the limitation of traditional national account: by providing a way to link non-monetary statistics to the national account, by establishing a coherent extended framework or by providing information about production cost structure, the jobs created, the number of companies and establishments, and other information characterizing the activities of social enterprises.
Present workshop intends to distiln the best information available from previous experiences to set a system of satellite accounts for social economy in Luxembourg. The goal will be to respond to some questions about satellite account and the workshop will be divided around four main presentations. Some experts are received for the event.
